Milliband's millionaire

If you are one of the unfortunate souls who is interested in Party Conferences (I know!) Well, if you are then you would know that Milliband's featured speech, designed to get middle england to its feet, was a slap down for the November 30 strikers combined with the new 'big idea' that the world (and all its classes) could be divided neatly between 'good' tenants, claimants, business owners, banks, millionaires etc and bad-uns.

(Leave aside, just for a moment, the ludicrous comparison between a claimant that earns a few quid on the side and a banker that destroys the economic security of millions - and who is paid £ millions for it.)

By the following day Ed Milli and Ed B were at pains to stress how pro-business Labour was. Don't worry said the Eds, 'good' business has nothing to fear from Labour.

Now Milliband has given us a concrete definition of who he regards as the good guys. The facts appear in a small article in the FT 21 October. They are worth quoting at some length.
"Property tycoon Andrew Rosenfeld has been given an official advisory role by Labour that will see him heavily involved in the party's next general election strategy."

Who is this good man?

Ok. He is committed to donating £1 million to the party. Fare enough you would say - if you support Labour.

Oh - and "he recently spent 5 years in tax exile in Geneva."

And he was "recently caught up in the cash for honours affair where secret loans to Labour by wealthy businessmen prompted a police investigation."

And "In 2005" he "was criticised during the collapse of the retail chain Allders for refusing to accept responsibility for its £68 million pension deficit despite his large stake."

Oh, and "18 months ago he was praising David Cameron."

Mr Rosenfeld is "said to be worth £100 miliion."

I wonder who Milliband thinks are the bad guys?
